Programs

The New England ACT Chapter currently contucts two ACT development groups: an Education group and a Consultation group. The Education Group includes didactic and experiential components and accommodates those new to ACT as well as trained ACT practitioners. The Consultation Group focuses around presenting and working through real-life cases and how ACT can be applied or applied more effectively.

Education Group

Purpose:

Group members participate in a facilitated discussion about ACT theories and principles. Topics are based on assigned readings and range from elementary to advanced (based on group composition).

Enrollment:

Enrollment is open to interested mental health professionals, graduate-level students, and trainees.

Meetings:

Meetings generally occur on the first Monday of the month (with exceptions for holidays) from 6:30pm-7:30pm and are held at the DeMarneffe building at McLean Hospital. Click here for the Meetings Calendar.

Case Consultation Group

Purpose:

Group members present cases to the team for ACT-related treatment feedback and suggestions. Case consultation does not constitute formal supervision, but a confidential academic discussion about real-world use of ACT theories and techniques.

Enrollment:

By-Appointment-Only. Please contact Dr. Magovcevic (mmagovcevic@partners.org) or Nate Gruner, LICSW (nggruner@partners.org), to arrange for attendance. Group is limited to mental health professionals, graduate-level students, and trainees.
